As a non-governmental organisation (NGO), the British Syrian Society aims at strengthening relations at all levels between the United Kingdom and Syria; it will encourage dialogue between the peoples of the two countries, and facilitate better understanding and co-operation between them. It will further such aims by
- Encouraging, organising and sponsoring a range of social, economic, trade, cultural, political and media, activities and exchanges.
- Preparing and dissemination of education and informational material.
- Promoting deeper bonds between resident, naturalised and British-born Syrians on the one hand and the wider community on the other, enhancing the profile of the Syrian community and encouraging it to engage more fully in British public life.
